Second Shift Adventures is a Canadian travel company built for people who want more than a standard scroll-and-book vacation.

We build story potential into every trip. Sometimes that means a better route, a strange little detour, a side quest you’d never have found on page one of Google, or simply knowing which parts are worth spending money on — and which aren’t.

Some trips start with a destination. Some start with a milestone, a mood, a ridiculous idea, or something you saw and immediately sent to your favourite travel person. Some are trips we build together. Some are small-group adventures you can join. And some are ideas worth stealing for your own trip.

The common thread is simple: the trip should feel like yours — and give you something better to come home with than a camera roll full of pool chairs.

The community still matters here, too. It’s where good recommendations get shared, strange ideas get encouraged, and travellers help each other find the places, experiences and little details worth leaving home for.

When you’re ready to go, we help turn the idea into a trip that actually works — sorting through the options, finding the right suppliers, shaping the route and handling the details so you can spend less time managing tabs and more time looking forward to the story.

Second Shift Adventures is an independent travel advisory brand powered by Fora Travel. Formal booking confirmations, supplier terms, and payment details are provided through the appropriate booking channel at the time of booking.

I’m usually the one saying:

I’m the founder of Second Shift Adventures and an independent travel advisor with Fora Travel.

I built this for people who still have jobs, budgets, responsibilities and a limited number of vacation days — but refuse to believe their best stories are behind them.

I love a clever route, a good deal and the odd little place that somehow becomes the thing everyone talks about afterwards. I also love the planning that creates room for those moments: the right timing, the right people, the details handled, and enough flexibility for a spontaneous detour or a well-timed “hold my beer.”

That’s really what Second Shift is about: building more story potential into every trip.

My job isn’t to tell you where everyone else is going. It’s to understand what will make this trip memorable for you, find the places and experiences that fit, and turn the whole idea into something real, practical and bookable.

Because a beautiful destination is only part of the story.

It’s the people, the side quests, the unexpected stops and the moments you’re still laughing about five years later that make a trip worth telling stories about.

We intentionally use some AI-created artwork to capture a mood, an idea or the spark of an adventure. Those images are imagination — not a promise of what a destination or experience actually looks like. When we show you a specific hotel, tour, destination or real-world place, we use real photography.

Imagination can help us find the story. The trip itself still has to be grounded in reality.

  • We help you build a trip from scratch, improve one you’ve already started, or join one of our small-group adventures. The common thread: travel with more story potential and less planning bullshit.

    Less internet rabbit hole. More actual trip.

  • Absolutely. Flights booked? Resort chosen? Cousin Andy already committed everyone to Mexico? We can work with what exists and make the rest of the trip smarter, smoother and more memorable.

  • Sometimes. Simple hotel, cruise and travel bookings may not require one. Trips involving custom planning, detailed itineraries, multiple components or ongoing concierge support may include a planning fee. I’ll tell you before we start.

  • Our small-group trips start with an idea and get shaped into a real adventure. You can come with your people or sometimes join solo. Expressing interest isn’t a commitment — we’ll talk through the trip before you decide whether you’re in.

    My goal is to help you find the best fit for your budget, not just the lowest number on the screen.

  • Absolutely. Group trips are kind of my thing.

    Birthdays, anniversaries, friends’ trips, family getaways, bachelor/bachelorette groups, motorcycle trips, cruises, resort groups — if there are multiple humans, multiple opinions, and at least one person saying “I’m easy” while being absolutely not easy, I can help.

  • Yes. Everyone gets their own itinerary and Rally Pack, customized to them.

    Some people may want to arrive early, stay later, add a special Side Quest or make a different choice along the way. We coordinate the core group pieces, then customize the rest around each traveller.

    Shared group expenses are calculated and covered through the Crew Fee — so one poor soul isn’t stuck chasing everyone like a debt collector with a suitcase.

  • Yes. If something pops up while you’re away, you can reach out and I’ll do what I can to help guide you through it.

    Travel sometimes adds a little plot twist. You don’t have to figure it out alone from a hotel lobby with 12% battery.
